Jeff Butler Named Athlete of the Year

Honored and Humbled to receive award

United States ParaOlympian and Texas Stampede athlete Jeff Butler received the 2019 athlete of the year at the USQRA annual national championship banquet held in Rockford Illinois.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to receive this award. I would not have gotten this far in my career without the help and guidance of my teammates, coaches, and mentors along the way” said Butler.

A 2016 member of the Rio Paralympic Team member who is in his seventh season with the Stampede has received three all tournament awards this season. In addition, he has been selected for the 2019 USA WR training squad. His efforts to lead and instruct have also been noted in clinics he has instructed . “Jeff has matured into a driven athlete. His desire to be the best has been noted and he has proven himself on the National as well as International stage” said Coach Gumbert.
