Stampede travel to Tucson to compete in Wildcat invitational

The Texas Stampede wheelchair rugby team is poised for another thrilling showdown as they prepare to compete in the upcoming University of Arizona Wildcats Invitational from December 2nd to 4th. The team's recent journey includes a notable third-place finish at the Medal of Muscle Tournament in Houston, Texas, just three weeks ago. This performance showcased their resilience and skill, setting the stage for what promises to be an intense and competitive run at the Wildcat Invitational.

Key to the Stampede's success are their lead scorers, Sebastien Verdin hailing from France and Alejandro Pabon representing Texas. Verdin's international flair and Pabon's local expertise create a dynamic scoring duo that keeps opponents on their heels. The synergy between these two players has been a driving force behind the team's recent achievements, and all eyes will be on them as they aim for further success in Arizona.

Adding to the team's narrative is their remarkable fifth national championship secured just this past April. The Stampede's consistent excellence positions them as a powerhouse in wheelchair rugby, with a reputation for tenacity and strategic prowess. Head Coach Gabriel Garcia, reflecting on the upcoming tournament, stated, "The team is excited to hit the court again before we go into the second half of the season. We are looking forward to seeing more competition as we build towards the next half of the season." Garcia's words underscore the team's eagerness to continue their winning streak and face new challenges on the court.

As the Texas Stampede heads into the WildCats Invitational, their journey is not merely a quest for victory but a testament to the dedication, skill, and camaraderie that define them as a force to be reckoned with in the world of wheelchair rugby. With recent triumphs fueling their momentum, the Stampede is ready to showcase their prowess and leave an indelible mark at the upcoming tournament in Arizona.
