The Texas Stampede wheelchair rugby team is set to make a triumphant return to the USWRA National Championships in Tampa, Florida, from May 2-4 2025. After securing a second-place finish at the 2024 Nationals, the Stampede has demonstrated remarkable resilience and determination throughout the 2025 season. Their victories at the Metal of Muscle Invitational in Houston and the NS9 Classic in Phoenix have solidified their reputation as a formidable force in the sport. Head Coach Gabriel Garcia expressed his enthusiasm, stating, "We are extremely excited to be going into nationals this weekend. It's been a long season and we're looking forward to wrapping the season on top."  

The team's success this season has been bolstered by the return of key players. USA national team member Alex Pabon who rejoined the Stampede after clinching a victory at the Shibuya Classic in Japan. Meanwhile, Sebastien Verdin, a stalwart of the French national team, led France to their third consecutive European Championship, showcasing his exceptional skills and leadership. Verdin's contributions were also pivotal in the Stampede's recent triumphs, including their dominant performance at the Metal of Muscle Invitational, where he scored 22 points in the championship game. 

As the Stampede prepares for the national championships, the team reflects on a season marked by growth, resilience, and unwavering determination.
