Stampede bounce back with Saturday Wins

4 head staples and a bottle of aspirin later, the Texas Stampede had a superb Saturday of rugby in Phoenix Arizona. Winning out against both opponents by a wide margin, the return of the team leading scorer Raf Hendrix surely helped the team return to form. After sustaining a smallish gash to the head in yesterday's second game, Hendrix passed the league concussion tests and was allowed to play in today's game. On his injury, Coach Gumbert had this to say: "Raf [Hendrix] is a real asset to the team, and with the amount of blood that came out of his head, I wasn't sure if we would be able to activate him for today's games. Luckily it was only a flesh wound and his presence unequivocally helped us win out today."

Impressive play by the Texas low pointer Landon Groff also helped catapult the Stampede to victory. "He's just a picking machine" remarked CJ Brown, Stampede mid pointer.

The Stampede will be put to the test in tomorrow's game, playing the Las Vegas Renegades. Their bald and ferocious Dutchman will do his best to man up with the Stampede import Hendrix.
