Texas set to start National Championship Quest this weekend

~~The Stampede has arrived in Louisville and has begun to settle in to their accommodations at the luxurious Galt Hotel.  After the shortest AGM in association history the team has completed the “paper work” behind the play and attention can shift to the game on the court.

Texas seeded seventh begins tomorrows games against #2 seed Minnesota and #4 Seed Lakeshore. “Both teams represent a challenge for us”, said coach James Gumbert “Minnesota has USA standouts Chuck Aoki and Jeromy Brown, and Lakeshore has former USA athletes Eddie Crouch, Delvin McMillian, and newly elected President of the USQRA Bob Lujano”. “It’s going to be a battle (being an underdog in every game) but, the team is ready to give their all and were going to play our best” he said.

In AGM news, Stampede assistant Shawn Meredith’s proposal for a review of the trunk rule was defeated, and the diversity statement proposed by the association was passed.  All other amendments were tabled to a later date.  As there was no quorum no new business or amendments were voted on. The election of Joe Delagrave (1st VP) and Chuck Aoki (secretary) also passed
