New athletes go 1-1 with Texans

The Texas Stampede was back in action November 30 in Houston Texas.  Texas in a double header with in state rival Houston Texans were looking to get some experience for some of the younger members of the team in advance of next week’s Metal of Muscle.

Led by Texas assistant coach and Gold medal winner Norm Lyduch the Stampede came out and stumbled early falling behind the Texans 9-13.  The second quarter saw team high athlete (20 points) CJ Brown rally the squad to win the 2nd and 3rd by 5 points.  The fourth saw the stingy defense of Mike Schacherbauer expand the lead through turnovers and the Stampede win the first game 52-50.

Game 2 proved to be another story.  The Texans jumped out to a 13 – 5 lead on the Stampede and never looked back.  The match went to 43-33 to Houston.  Great experience and quality minutes were put in by the team.  All with the hopes of adding depth to the bench

A huge thanks to Houston for hosting and the staff of the Stampede for keeping the team rolling.  Look for more information on this story and next week’s Metal of Muscle at www.fearthesteer.com
