18yr old has huge goals

The Texas Stampede recently welcomed Jordan Sorensen to the team. “Jordan is a young man set on accomplishing some big goals” said Coach James Gumbert. “When he joined us for last week’s tournament we were not sure about his classification, and to have him as a 2.5 was a welcome surprise”, he said.

Jordan is another dual sport athlete looking to make an immediate impact. “The differences between basketball and rugby while visible are similar in many ways” said the 18yr old Sorensen. “I like to play defense and the two sports offer similarities in schemes”, he continued.

“Jordan’s classification fills some holes we have this year”, said Gumbert.  This reference is to a 5 athlete loss from the 2014 season.  “I hope to help the Stampede improve upon last year’s record and see where the sport takes me from there”, said Sorensen.

The Stampede take the court this Sunday the 22nd  at Texas State University against instate rivals TIRR Texans. For more information go to www.fearthesteer.com.
