Texas fans turnout in Bama tourney

The Texas Stampede's open day two of the demolition derby with a match up against number one seed Phoenix heat. The match up would be the toughest test of the 2015 2016 season.

Phoenix lead behind veteran Doug Hogsett' played a flawless first quarter.  The heat caused several turnovers by the young Stampede members, and ended the quarter 2 up. Texas rebounded in the second to keep the game within two.

"Running different lines was something that we really wanted to focus on not just for this game but for the rest of the season"'. Said Coach James Gumbert using that philosophy the stampede ran combinations and tried many lines to test them against the number one seed.

In the end the experience and skill sets of the heat would be too much for the young Stampede. The heat win the first match of the day 47-40.

After a brief one game break the stampede took the pitch before a energetic and enthusiastic Texas crowd against the Tampa General's.

The stampede employed many of the strategies and used some of the same lessons they learned from the game against the heat to open up a 10 point lead at halftime. Texas was able to expand upon that lead and all athletes contributed to a 61-45 victory over a scrappy general team. The stampede are currently three and one and look to finish the weekend against St. Louis.
