Several members of the Texas stampede put on red white and blue in support of USA wheelchair rugby this weekend. The reason was the USA rugby eagles were in Round Rock Texas competing against Brazil.

This all came about as the eagles reached out to USA wheelchair rugby and asked to see if there were local athletes that could participate in the games fan fest.

Athletes and staff from the stampede met with fans and introduced wheelchair rugby to numerous people. Some knew about our game and many newcomers were exposed to the sport. The event which was well attended saw USA defeat Brazil 51 to 3.

"it was such an honor to be included alongside  our able-bodied counterparts at USA Rugby" said Coach James Gumbert. "We felt honored and welcomed by everyone"
