Texas athletes contribute to USAWR wins

Stampede athletes Jeff Butler and Alex Pabon recently competed for TEAM USAWR at the Japan para championships, in Chiba Japan.

The tournament featured the top three teams in the world. Including Australia Japan and the USA. Said Butler "The tri-nations tournament was a great opportunity to measure our young team against established opponents, and we are excited to continue to develop our newer players". Pabon remarked "It's exciting to see the team take steps to becoming the best in the world, every game we keep getting better and I'm looking forward to taking some more steps"

The US finished six and one at the tournament and brought home the gold medal.  Butler was once again a highlight and would be voted the best in his .5 class.

Said Coach James Gumbert, "it was a great start to our international season. We are expecting great things from both Jeff and Alex over the next few months".
