On Saturday, September 30th, Stampede athletes Emily Shryock and Daniel Curtis represented the Stamped and the sport of wheelchair rugby at the third annual Townlake YMCA Adapted Sports expo. This was a great opportunity to introduce children and young adults to the sport of wheelchair rugby while also recruiting volunteers and fans for the Austin club.

 

"The turnout this year was great and there was a lot of interest in how local folks could get involved." The event had an estimated attendance of around 100 people, many of which had never heard of wheelchair rugby before. This was a great opportunity to create awareness around our sport as well as a potential partnership with the YMCA down the line.
