Newcomers and rookies dominate line play

The Texas Stampede went 5–0 to win the Turnstone invitational this weekend.  The stampede claimed the title for the second time in as many years. Said Coach Gabriel Garcia "We came here with the objective of developing. We had 3 athletes that really have been looking to breakout and this tournament gave us that opportunity to do it"

Stampede import Thomas Moylan had this to say "As our first outing of the season we performed very well and really came together as a team. We got to build on some fundamentals and I know for myself in particular, that it allowed me to really integrate myself into the team. I'm hugely grateful at the opportunity and I'm looking forward to the next challenge".

"All of the games provided an excellent opportunity for our young athletes to be able to get quality time on the court said Manager James Gumbert. These type of events help to build on our preseason and early season practices and friendlies.

Next up for the Stampede is the best of the west Invitational in San Diego California. The International tournament will feature the number one team in the world Australia and Teams from Brazil and Canada alongside some of the best teams in the United States. "It should be one of the best tournament of the season" said Gumbert.

The Stampede is sponsored in part by C and R Medical. For more information on the Stampede and it's upcoming events go to www.fearthesteer.com or email us at TexasStampedeWCRugby@gmail.com
