Tournament displays emerging talent

The Stampede are home after a long weekend tournament in Tampa.  With a record of 3-2, the team took second place with their only losses coming from the top ranked team in the country and the defending national champions.  In spite of their losses, the team made great strides toward their ultimate goal of success in the postseason.

The theme of this tournament was growth-- both as individual players and for the team as a whole.  “Each time we took the court, we were working on specific situational scenarios and set plays.  We have certainly made big strides since the beginning of the season.” said Stampede athlete Jeff Butler.

Newest player on the roster, Thomas Moylan, had this to say, “We put our best foot forward and played as a unit with many moving parts. I'm proud of our performance and look forward to seeing what we do in the future.”  Follow The Stampede in their next tournament as they head to Birmingham, Alabama on February 2-4.
