Stampede development side brings home 3rd

The Stampede climbed high to Denver last week for the 5 team Mile High Mayham tournament. Texas came out strong against the Boise bombers led by  former USA player Cory but fell short by score of 48-44. They were able to rebound and defeat Phoenix 61-47 to end the day 1-1.

Many teams, including the Stampede, were without some starters as team USA prepared to travel across the pond for a tough test against the worlds best teams in Leicester UK for the Quad national tournament.

Saturday would put the Texas stampede against two different Denver squads. Led by Moyland, the stampede would win their first game 57-50 but the home crowd proved to be too much as the burnt orange lost the second game by a score of 47-38. “This was another great tournament to get more court time for our developing players “, said player coach Gabe Garcia.

Sunday would have Texas play Phoenix again for 3rd place. The Stampede was able to rise to the occasion and went home with the third-place trophy.

Thank you to Craig hospital and the community in Denver for hosting such a great tournament and we can’t wait to go back next year.
