Butler, Pabon, and Hennagir make elite 16

Three members of the Texas stampede were recently selected to be a part of the 2019 USAWR squad. Jeff Butler, Alex Pabon, and Ray Hennagir all received the word at the trials that they had been selected to the team.

“I’m humbled and excited to get selected to such an elite group. It’s a good mix of veteran players and new young talent. Ready to get back to work and continue the journey to Tokyo 2020 thru Lima 2019”. said Alex Pabon on his selection.

Newcomer Ray Hennagir said “I feel grateful for the opportunity and cant wait to continue learning. Thank you to all who have helped me on this journey. I couldn't have made it without the support of my family and knowledge shared by my fellow athletes and the coaches as well. Big thanks to the man upstairs for providing me with the opportunity to serve my country again”!

“We are all very excited for all three of the athletes” said USAWR Coach James Gumbert. “We know that each of them have been working to be the best that they can be. It was a very tough tryout and decisions were very hard”.

The athletes will compete in the 2019 year cycle. They will attend the 4 nation tournament in Birmingham Alabama the Lima para Pan Am games in Peru and finish the season with the world challenge in Tokyo Japan.
