Joe Delgrave who was selected as cocaptain for the squad said  “it’s always an honor and privilege to be selected to the national team. I’m excited for the next 9 months and what this journey has to offer. Being selected as the co-captain is a great privilege and I am excited to do my part in leading this team to the top of the podium at Tokyo 2020”, he explained.

The five day tryout was held at the Lakeshore Foundation in Birmingham Alabama. James Gumbert head coach of the Stampede and USAWR commented, “it was one of the most difficult trials we’ve ever had. The level of athletes and their skill sets impressed everyone on the committee. We had such a tough time choosing 16 when there were so many great candidates”.

The squad will get to work early in January with its first camp at Colorado Springs Colorado at the US Olympic Paralympic training center.
