Stampede set to continue building momentum towards nationals

The Texas Stampede Wheelchair Rugby team is set to create waves at the Demolition Derby in Birmingham, Alabama this weekend, following their triumphant first-place finish at the Bash at the Bay in California and an impressive third-place showing at the Tampa Invitational in January of 2024. Head coach Gabriel Garcia expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “We're excited to take the court again. First time back in Birmingham since 2022, and the team is looking to make a statement in the tournament.”

The Stampede, riding high on recent successes, is led by the dynamic duo of Alex Pabon and French Paralympian Sebastien Verdin, both integral members of the 2023 national championship Stampede team. Their skill and leadership will undoubtedly be key factors as the team strives for another impressive performance on the court.

Fans and enthusiasts alike can catch all the action as the games will be live-streamed. For those seeking more information about the Texas Stampede Wheelchair Rugby team and their upcoming matches, visit www.fearthesteer.org.
