Team uses tournament as a warm up for mountain sectional

Texas dropped their last match of the Cougar Cup to Denver 35 - 36. The Stampede who ended with a 2-3 record and brought home a second place trophy could not finish the match that saw 8 lead changes, one technical and a number of turnovers on both sides.  "We couldn't finish" said James Gumbert. "Every time we got a little momentum going we would have a turnover and give it right back".

The boys in black played the game with a small squad (Symons, Whittaker, Waker, Meredith and Butler).   "We played well the whole weekend and so many good things happened, that it is hard to be anything other than pleased with the overall outcome of the tournament" said Gumbert.  "I would be disappointed if we didn't take the lessons we learned and apply them when we are at full strength".

The Stampede begin their drive towards the 2015 National Championship when they compete in the Mountain Sectional March 20-22 in Tucson AZ. Follow all the action at www.fearthesteer.com.
