The 2015 USQRA Mountain Sectionals is underway here in Sunny Tucson, AZ.  Your Texas Stampede is running strong going 3-0 on the day with victory's over Houston, Tucson and 

U of A.

 

The Stampede came out hot in game one vs. Houston with starters Symons, Brown, Kirkland and Garcia. Their cohesive play put us in a good position to utilize the bench and keep fresh athletes on court.  Houston had a strong court presence, but it was difficult to compete with the depth of the stampedes bench.  The score at the final horn - Stampede 63, Houston 39.

 

Game two found the stampede facing a strong division rival in the Tucson Renegades.  Bond, Brown, Kirkland & Butler lead the way.  We never trailed, due to a strong showing from the bench and big plays from Schacherbauer, Butler & Bond. Final score: 59-53

 

In the final game of the day your Texas Stampede faced Mountain Sectional host, the University of Arizona.  With big Defense form Symons, Meredith & Groff the Stampede never looked back with a final score of 55-35.

 

It was a huge day full of rugby, great competition and fine tuning.  The Stampede will face the 2014 National Champs, Phoenix Heat, tomorrow on the hard wood floor of the University of Arizona Student Recreation Center.  This is sure to be the game of the day.
